At the Second Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange held in Chengdu, China from 10 to 12 June 2025, DDE was officially recognized as an International Big Science Program during a special session, from 0930 to 1230 on 12 June 2025, hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), China.

On June 15, 2025, the DDE Petroleum Geology Knowledge System Review Discussion was successfully held at the Xinyang Room of Fairmont Yangcheng Lake, with simultaneous online participation via Zoom.

CCOP is one of the Founding Members of DDE. It is the only Inter-governmental organization, serving 16 Member countries (ASEAN 10 (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam) and China, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste).

DDE Statement

In February 2025, the UNESCO hosted UN Secretariat for the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD; 2024-2033) recognized DDE as a Programme of the Decade.
